I am incredibly excited to announce that Richard Ellis has established a 'School of Reiki' here at the Ashtara Center. Richard is a Master Practitioner and Author of three best selling titles on Reiki
He will be offering two extensive training in Reiki a year, taking students from complete novice First level Reiki to Third level advanced practitioner. This is a course for people who really want to incorporate Reiki into their existing therapy work or who are starting out for the first time and wish to complete all the modules so they can consider Reiki as a career path. He will be drawing on 16 years of experience as a therapist and teacher of Reiki to put together a comprehensive training that will give you all the practical and theoretical skills required to be a successful Reiki therapist. You will be able to join the Reiki Association entitling you to discounted personal liability insurance on completion of this training. In addition Richard will be offering assisting programs on the following years course for those who go on to study Master Level Reiki to give real practical experience and essential skills in holding groups and attuning.

In addition to the weekend courses that make up the Reiki training, there are Reiki days in-between the training weekends, which offer participants an opportunity to polish their skills and ask questions related to their on-going development as Reiki practitioners. Contained in the Reiki days are a variety of meditation practices, energetic exercises, group discussion and table work. Emphasis is put on the practical application of Reiki and body observation and calibration techniques and ideas. This is a warm, friendly and enthusiastic group day.

The Body never lies
An essential days training for anyone considering working, as a hands-on therapist. Combining body posture observation and an understanding of the emotional and psychological aspects of the chakra system to discover what, where and why we are holding long standing emotional contractions in the physical body. What is Reiki Reiki is an eastern healing art, which involves the practitioner generating surplus vital energy through intent and breathing techniques. It is directed by the practitioners hands into areas of the patients body that are perceived as blocked or deficient in energy due to long held emotional issues or day to day stresses. This helps to restore balance and a sense of well being.
How can Reiki help you
Reiki can be used as part of a maintenance program, keeping everything optimized and in balance and is also very effective when used in unison with more conventional medicine to help with more serious illnesses such as cancer. One of my patients who is a doctor herself: Dr Anna Donald, recently made a remarkable recovery from cancer in the lungs, bones and liver she says "I think Reiki helped not only healing from cancer, but also in diminishing the chemo side effects, with the possible exception of hair"
